A door entry system such as an intercom system is a great step towards making a business secure from unauthorised access. They are suitable for both residential and commercial applications.

When trying to enter the property the visitor will have to press a button on the intercom handset which will cause a ring to sound inside the building. It is possible to have a two way conversation with the visitor and if combined with an inbuilt video camera you can also see the person who is trying to gain access.

Once the identity of the visitor has been confirmed a button on the handset can be pressed to allow the caller entry in to the building.

Free entry for staff can be allowed through the use of a proximity card reader or keypad, without the need to use the intercom system.

This type of access control system is normally only used for applications requiring a low level of security.
